JFN 2014, the French-speaking days of Nutrition
From December 10 to 12, at the JFN in Brussels, the AGUETTANT Institute was pleased to welcome you on its booth and invited you to attend its symposium on December 10th 5:45 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. The topic : "Micronutrient supplementation: how to recognize needs of patients at risk". The moderator was Prof Pierre Déchelotte (Rouen, France), and the speakers, Prof Francisca Joly (Paris) and Prof Didier Quilliot (Nancy, France), worked on 2 clinical cases about gastroenterology.
Presentation of the 2014 research award
The 2014 Research Award has been granted to Karin Amrein, MD, MSc (Graz, Austria), for her project: « Diagnosis of Vitamin D Deficiency in Critical Care ». The Prize has been presented at the Aguettant Institute Symposium, during the Journées Francophones de Nutrition in Brussels, on December 10th 2014. Dr Frédéric Valla, 2013 laureate, has presented the results of his research "Micronutrients and oxidative stress in pediatric ICU".
ESPEN 2014, Geneva
The AGUETTANT Institute symposium « Are micronutrients still on your agenda? », brilliantly carried out by 4 experts - Prof. Lubos Sobotka (Czech Republic), moderator, Dr Ronan Thibault (France), Dr. Ana Maria Ramos-Levi (Spain) and Dr. Karin Amrein (Austria), has attracted more than 350 persons. Philippe Tastet, illustrator, was drawing "live" humoristic illustrations to what was said by the scientists.
DGEM 2014, Ludwigsburg
For its first participation at the DGEM congress - German Society for Clinical Nutrition, the AGUETTANT Institute has chosen to focus its symposium on selenium, moderated by Prof. Stephan Bischoff, and presented by Prof. Regina Brigelius-Flohe, Dr. Holger Steinbrenner and Prof. Josef Köhrle.

First Symposium: the patient under attack
At the Journées Francophones de Nutrition [JFN] held in Lyon in December 2012, essential micronutrients in clinical nutrition were in the spotlight at the symposium organised by the Institut Aguettant. This focus made it possible to provide information and stress the essential role they play!
First Scientific Meeting
Organised and steered by the Institute’s Scientific Committee, the first Scientific Meeting was held in April 2012 with a number of hospital experts. This session led to an enhanced understanding of micronutrients and hospital practice. It was followed by two more sessions, one in November 2012 and the other in April 2013.
Launch of the Institut Aguettant
With the help of the pharmaceutical company Laboratoire Aguettant and a number of experts in the field of clinical nutrition, the Institut Aguettant was set up in December 2011. Its mission is to help hospital teams to follow recommendations and to promote research into micronutrients in clinical nutrition.
